Extra-Mural Activities

"Play is the work of the child." - Maria Montessori

Extra-Mural Activities at Hout Bay Montessori

Hout Bay Montessori organises a host of extra-mural activities that are open to pre-school children (specially mentioned ones are available to nursery children too).

All the extra-mural activities have been chosen to give your child the opportunity to boost his/her self-esteem, enhance co-ordination, develop life-long skills and discover their own unique talents and interests. We offer Playball, Yoga, Art, Drama, Grade R enrichment, Marimba, Music lessons, Coding, Robotics and an Eco Club.

The primary children have cricket, softball and soccer lessons as part of their weekly schedule.

Lauren de Wet
Playball has been designed for children between the ages of 2 and 6. Our program is age specific with the children progressing from basic gross motor and ball skills to more structured sports participation.
All classes take place in a positive, safe and non - threatening environment. It is important to involve parents and teachers in the learning process which is why we provide regular feedback sessions with the teachers and give parents feedback twice a year in the form of written reports.
